Imagining is a powerful activity to developing anything that a person wants to achieve. The quote that explains it all- 'Seeing is Believing!'
The transition from a student to a professional dancer is a huge step in a dancer's career. Through shifting into this new and unique lifestyle, I have found that a dancer will learn from his/her mistakes and experiences to be able to live the enriching life of a professional. This blog therefore is an example of this transition and gives a little insight on my life after ballet school, and stepping into the big wide world!

Vision Board- starting 2a
I am getting started on task 2 having begun a reflection journal. To stimulate my imagination and ideas, I thought of creating a vision board for my profession and on what dancer I aspire to be.

Gabrielle,
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's just me, but I can't see your image. Is it a picture of your image board? I can just see a white space with a question mark in the middle.
How are you finding your journal? I've stated mine too. Time seems to be flying by on this course!
On a separate note, I thought it might be helpful if everyone added the 'subscribe via email' option to their blog? You can find this in the 'layout' section of your blogger clicking on 'add a gadget' (I've put mine above my profile) and then choosing the 'subscribe via email' gadget. I thought this could save us all time as rather than checking everyday to see what's new, we would get an email telling us someone has a new blog topic. Just a thought! I'm going to post this to everyone.
Take care
Megan
Hi Megan
ReplyDeleteThanks will try sort it out. Yes it is going well, experimenting the different ways to write a journal and already finding a system that works for me. How are you finding it?
I like the idea about adding an email update gadget! We are all probably super busy and this way would make it more efficient.
Thanks!
Gabrielle
Hey Gabrielle
ReplyDeleteI haven't experimented with the different ways yet, I've just been free writing - I wanted to get into the habit of writing each day (ish) first but intend to start experimenting with the ways suggested next week. I've found that using an app is really good for me as I'm a bit of a perfectionist and want to go back and change things/rewrite them the next day but I can't as it will then save the entry for the new day! I do feel like 3 weeks for Task 2 doesn't seem long enough though? Week 1 is almost over and I'm not sure how much I've achieved in terms of evidence...

ReplyDeleteI love this, it's so beautiful and such a good thing to live by. I do a similar thing, after coming away from my cruise contract I arranged a board with pictures and primarily quotes and letters and "good" things. This is inspiring for our own practice in dance, I like that this focuses on your goals.
